Great news from the high-street. Topshop, Miss Selfridge and more take action against angora fur...
Arcadia has confirmed its ban on angora products, becoming the latest set of retailers to take a stand against the mistreatment of animals.
Following the announcement, an Arcadia spokesperson told Marie Claire: 'Arcadia Group will no longer source angora. We will continue to trade through current stock and commitment.'
Sir Philip Green's umbrella brand over Topshop, Miss Selfridge, BHS, Dorothy Perkins and Wallis, the ban comes as great news to PETA.
The animal rights campaign group released shocking footage of rabbits being wrongly ripped of their fur on Chinese angora farms, urging retailers to take action.
' There is no way to source angora responsibly,' PETA's official press release reads. 'And we strongly encourage retailers that still buy angora wool to join the growing list of responsible retailers that have said no to this cruelty. '
Zara, ASOS, H&M, Marks & Spencer, Forever 21 and New Look are among the retailers that have already implemented the ban. John Lewis became the latest to take action.

Issuing the following statement, they said: 'As a responsible retailer, John Lewis is committed to ensuring high standards of animal welfare in all stages of the supply chain and we require our suppliers to do likewise. As part of our ongoing programme of supply chain management, we recently contacted suppliers about concerns raised by customers around the sourcing of angora wool.
'While we found no evidence of unacceptable animal welfare practices, nevertheless we have decided to no longer include angora in future John Lewis own brand or branded products.'
Let's hope the good news continues...
