If you're familiar with House of Hackney, you'll already know that the British interiors brand in itself is pure social media gold, thanks to its maximalist aesthetic and iconic floral prints. No one clashes leopard print and florals quite like husband-and-wife team Javvy M Royle and Frieda Gormley - and gets away with it.
So you'll understand the buzz behind their collaboration with one of my fave high-street brands, & Other Stories. The two have teamed up for SS18 to create a collection 'celebrating the beauty of nature’s prints mixed with a dose of British psychedelia'.
In other words, expect plenty of eccentric prints, softened with feminine and bohemian textures and tailoring. I'm loving the chic wide trousers and oversized blouses, and the slippers that are #flatlay perfection.
As for the prints, the brand's signature floral and zebra print were re-imagined in new hues of blue and burnt orange, creating a 'tree of life' foliage.
'We love & Other Stories’ silhouettes, print treatments and how meaningful the brand’s social messaging feels. The collection that we created together is a heightened version of nature. We were inspired by British psychedelia, vibrant fabrics from our local Ridley Road Market, and the bohemian mood of the Bloomsbury Group,' says Frieda Gormley.
