Stephenie Meyer's Twilight spin-off breaks pre-sale records, as it races to the top of the Amazon charts
It hasn't even hit shops yet, but just a day after it was announced that Stepehenie Meyer will release a new Twilight book, it is already breaking records.
The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner - Meyer's first book in almost two years - will go on sale 5th June, but less than 24 hours after going on pre-sale, has already jumped to the top of the Amazon best-seller charts.
A spin-off from Eclipse, the third book in the Twilight saga, the new novella will follow the story of Bree, a newborn vampire, who is part of an army that that rises up against Bella Swan, Edward Cullen and his family.

Meyer revealed that she had written the story as a 'thank you' to Twilight's legions of loyal fans: 'I'd always considered The Short Second Life Of Bree Tanner as something for the fans,' she said. 'They have been so supportive of all things Twilight.'
The 192-page novella will also be made available online at www.breetanner.com, in a read-only format.
Describing her decision to put the book out there for free, Meyer again addressed her fans, saying: 'You all have bought a ton of my books, and I wanted to give you this story as a gift... We still wanted to also produce a physical book with a cool cover that you can add to your set if you like.'
