Luxe skincare brand Creme de la Mer has just launched a revolutionary new treatment initiative: the on-counter facial.
Except that it's not strictly on-counter. So fear not, bashful Barbaras - the treatment is still uber discreet.
I found the semi-private area pleasingly tucked away (read: hidden from prying eyes), in a branded mini-booth complete with all the la Mer mod cons - think pristine fish tanks, whiter-than-white walls, and products galore. Including, as it happened, a whopping 500ml pot of the original Moisturizing Creme. Santa take note..
Once safely housed within the uber-luxe white treatment chair, it was hard to believe I was still in one of London's busiest department stores. Any rogue shopper-noise was quicly replaced with a selection of waves, crickets, and other such natural sounds, which continued to play through an inventive headband-cum-speaker system through-out the treatment.
My facial (as with each and every Creme de la Mer treatment) was totally bespoke, which means no second-guessing whether you need a brightening, hydrating or clarifying facial before you go.
The best part? The £50 booking fee is redeemable against product purchases on the day - it'd be rude not to, really...
