A pleasant and purse-pleasing hotel in the centre of Paris
Trying to find a hotel in the centre of Paris that isn't going to break the bank - or your heart - is quite a challenge, however, I may have found just the one.
Hotel Saint Augustin Elysées - part of the Best Western group - offers some great deals (especially if you book online), which are sure to please those travelling on a budget, but who don't want to 'rough it' either.
Ideally located just off the Boulevard Hausseman, between the Opera and Champs Elysées, it's the perfect base for city sightseeing, and is just a short walk to the Louvre and the beautiful Jardin des Tuileries.
Recently re-decorated, the three-star hotel is clean, bright, colourful and full of character. The rooms may not be on the large or luxurious side, but are comfortable, clean, modern and light, with large windows... that open, always a plus for lovers of fresh air like me!
For me, half the fun of staying in hotels is finding a nice bath to relax in, and I really wasn't expecting to find one here, however, I was pleasantly surprised by a very cute, very small bath that was perfect for soaking in after a long day traipsing around the city.
Free wi-fi is available in all the rooms (just ask at reception) along with a neat desk - making this hotel ideal for those travelling on business, too.

Breakfast is served at the hotel at an extra cost and room service is available, but there isn't a restaurant. Although, given you're in Paris with its plethora of gorgeous eateries and cafes, eating in your hotel would be a fool's choice anyway.
