People your age are having sex way less often than you think

How many times a week do you have sex? And how many times a week do you think you should actually be having sex? We recently found out how many times the average Brit does have sex, but it turns out the magic number all depends on your age.
A new study published in Medical Daily highlights when in our lives we have the most sex and how the year you were born influences how many times a week you should really be getting down and doing the deed.
According to the research which was carried out at the Kinsey Institute of Sex, millennials (people who reached young adulthood around the early noughties) tend to have the most sex. Though given this recent study suggests millennials are having the least sex, it sounds as though they have some catching up to do (enter Tinder).
Apparently if you're between the ages of 18 and 29 you should be having sex roughly twice a week, which works out at 112 times a year. Having sex frequently helps lower blood pressure, reduce stress and anxiety and aids a good night's sleep. So all the reasons are there.
People who fall into the next age bracket of 30 to 39 should apparently be having sex roughly 86 times a year, which results in 1.6 times a week (we'll let you work out how to make that work). Whereas 40 to 49 year olds have sex an average 69 times per year.
Given that people often start families and settle into their careers in later life, it's hardly surprising that the average number of times per week you should be having sex decreases as your age increases.

According to the study, 45% of married couples have sex several times a month, 34% of couples do the deed two to three times a week and just 13% of couples only have it a few times a year. However, a separate study has revealed that couples are at their happiest when they have sex this many times a week.
It’s worth reminding anyone who has more or less sex than the average person that everyone’s sex life is completely different, so don’t use it as some sort of sex benchmark. (Though if you're in need of a helping hand, don't underestimate the power of having the best sex toys in your arsenal, either.)
But whatever you do, don’t start comparing your kicks to everyone else’s.
If you’re happy with your sex life, that’s really all that matters.
