#BalmainArmy: From Kim Kardashian And Kendall Jenner, to Sophia Loren and Brigitte Bardot everyone's wearing Balmain.
It's Balmain day at Paris Fashion Week! As designer Olivier Rousteing presents his SS17 vision, we're taking a look at why the A-list have always loved this label...
From Brigitte Bardot to Sophia Loren, every IT girl on the 1950s and 1960s fashion scenes asked the original Mr Pierre Balmain to kit out their wardrobes with powerful, feminine silhouettes.
Six decades on, and current creative director Olivier Rousteing is doing exactly the same for their modern day counterparts.
Rousteing's design are the go-to of young Hollywood, and you're unlikely to see him at a party without his model muses close behind. Balmain's collaboration with H&M confirmed Kendall Jenner, Jourdan Dunn and Gigi Hadid's places firmly in Rousteing's fashion fold.
The rest of the Kardashian clan are no stranger to the designer's front row - it wouldn't be a Balmain show without Kim Kardashian-West.
The 35-year-old has undoubtedly been one of the label's biggest fans, since 2009, and is the proud owner of a closet full of its fiercely embellished, hourglass armour dresses. She famously wore a $20,000 rose embroidered dress by the label to her lavish Parisian hen do and also starred in Balmain's SS15 campaign alongside husband Kanye West.

Keeping things in the family is a common theme of Balmain's campaigns, as the brand's recent iconic Mario Sorrenti shot campaign for Autumn Winter 2015 proved. It featured Gigi and Kendall alongside their siblings, Bella Hadid and Kylie Jenner, as well as Joan and Erika Smalls, and brothers Armando and Fernando Cabral.
The label is a red carpet favourite, especially come awards season. In 2009, Penelope Cruz won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar in a vintage confection and Sasha Fierce herself, Beyonce, scooped three Grammys in a Balmain mini in 2015.
Brigitte Bardot paid a (then very) handsome £1000 to wear a Pierre Balmain original back in 1956, while Sophia Loren put the label on the silver screen in 1960, when she wore a stunning ballerina dress in The Millionairess.
Now, from Gwyneth Paltrow to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, everyone in Hollywood wants to be a part of the #BalmainArmy.
