The Crown cast just let slip season three’s release date
And there’s not long to wait.

And there’s not long to wait.
Season two of The Crown feels like it was a lifetime ago, with fans of the show eagerly awaiting its third season.
But while people are getting excited for season three, they are also mourning the loss of its stars from the episodes ahead, with the characters recast to older actors to reflect the passing of time – something that is set to happen every two seasons.
Olivia Coleman was the first actress confirmed for season 3, coming onboard as Queen Elizabeth and Helena Bonham Carter has been cast as Princess Margaret, but it was Game of Thrones actor Tobias Menzies (our new Prince Philip) that made news this week, revealing season three’s release date.
Yes. This is not a drill. We have a release date.
In a recent interview on Jo Good’s BBC Radio London show, Tobias explained: ‘We've shot season three, and that starts in November.’
Well, there we have it.

Other news around the show has involved casting updates, with Josh O’Connor set to be playing Prince Charles, Emerald Fennel hired as the young Camilla Parker-Bowles, and Emma Corrin selected to play Princess Diana, a role that Netflix openly advertised for.
Bring on season three. November cannot come soon enough.
