As usual the brass monkey weather didn't stop Hollywood's finest from hitting a chilly red carpet to celebrate the EE BAFTAs at the Royal Opera House on Sunday night. Stars ranging from Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet to Douglas Booth and Sam Claflin were out in force for what is arguably the UK's biggest awards ceremony.
Though there were plenty of excellent red carpet moments - Leo and Kate giving all those Titanic diehards exactly what they want by teaming up for a photo (again), Eddie Redmayne setting the hearts of every woman in his orbit aflutter as he worked the crowds with his pregnant wife Hannah Bagshawe, Alicia Vikander absolutely slaying it in a leather Louis Vuitton frock, as usual some of the best bits of action took place behind the scenes on Instagram.
We've gathered up our favourite behind-the-scenes moments from the Instagram accounts of the A-listers who attended the ceremony, pre and after-parties. Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke - or Daenerys Targaryen to her GOT fans - squeezed in a selfie with Rising Star nominee Bel Powley at the Lancome Nominees party, US star Cuba Gooding Jr gave us glimpse of his getting ready routine in a dapper black-and-white mirror shot, while super-vlogger Tanya Burr and presenter Poppy Jamie puckered up for a joint picture.
One of the most active Instagrammers of the night was Spotlight star Mark Ruffalo, who posted getting ready and in-the-car shots of he and his wife Sunrise Coigney (great name by the way), as well as selfies with actor Richard E Grant, Stanley Tucci and fashion designer Valentino.

After the ceremony guests jumped into cars to the Weinstein BAFTA party to boogie the night away until the wee hours at the Rosewood Hotel. It's a hard life.
