This week saw Donald Trump’s State of the Union address, an annual message from the President of the United States before a joint session of congress.
The event saw State of the Union attendees from both parties present, but it wasn’t the speakers or even the speeches that got the world talking this week. Instead, it was the dress code, with women encouraging each other to wear Suffragette white.
The unofficial dress code was urged to send a message to the President in support of women’s rights, something that high profile women from Nancy Pelosi to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez followed.
The internet wasn’t surprised of course when First Lady Melania Trump and First Daughter Ivanka Trump rocked up in navy blue and black, sidestepping the protest - although Melania’s Michael Jackson inspired one glove look did turn some heads.
The real confusion however came from Donald Trump’s youngest daughter, Tiffany Trump, who made a big statement with her wardrobe choices, surprising everyone as she seemed to join the protest.
Yes, Donald Trump’s daughter wore a white dress to his State of the Union address - and the internet is very very confused.
What does it all mean?
‘Looks like Tiffany Trump is making a statement by wearing white tonight!’ tweeted one user, while another posted: ‘Oops… Did Tiffany Trump not get the memo about all the Dem ladies wearing white?’.
Whether Tiffany planned on making a statement or not, that was definitely the outcome.
