Scantily clad models writhe against vegetables in advert, banned by NBC
A saucy new PeTA video promoting vegetarianism has been deemed too raunchy by US network NBC and banned from being broadcast during the Super Bowl this Sunday.
The American network has raised concerns over a woman shown ‘rubbing her pelvic region with a pumpkin’ and ‘screwing herself with broccoli’.
That’s woken you up on a grey Wednesday morning!
The 30-second advert features scantily clad models grabbing hold of every kind of vegetable and carries the tagline ‘studies show vegetarians have better sex’.
According to the charity, high cholesterol, obesity, diabetes, prostate cancers and hormonal imbalances are responsible for the majority of cases of impotence. So in a bid to keep the world healthy, PeTA says ditch the meet and dairy to keep your sex life sizzling.

When NBC cited their reasons for refusing to air the commercial, PeTA decided to lift the lid on the network and have revealed the channel’s concerns, raised in an email.
The network has called for a series of edits to remove depictions of the women handling pumpkins, broccoli and asparagus in a sexual way, adding they ‘even made us blush!’
Advertisers pay as much as $3 million (£2.1 million) for a 30-second slot during this Sunday’s Super Bowl, viewed by around 100 million people.
