New homes for young Slumdog actors and their families
The two main young actors from Slumdog Millionaire are being moved into real homes by the Indian authorities as a thank-you for the film's success.

The houses will be given to Rubina Ali, nine, and Azharuddin Ismail, ten, who played the younger versions of the movie's central characters, Latika and Salim.
Rubina currently lives in a one-bedroom hut next to an open sewer, while Azharuddin and his family live under a scrap of tarpaulin next to a busy road.
'These two children have brought laurels to the country, and we have been told that they live in slums, which cannot even be classified as housing,' said Gautam Chatterjee, head of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority.
And Amarjeet Singh Manhas, the chairman of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority, added: 'They deserve to be rewarded for the film’s success at the Oscars. The chief minister [of the state] has approved this. Their families will receive notification in a couple of days.'
But he stated that it has not yet been decided what kind of home the young stars and their families will be given or where they will be.
The heartwarming rags-to-riches movie, which is set in Mumbai, won an amazing eight gongs at the Oscars on Sunday night.
