Scarlett Johansson reacts to being the highest grossing Hollywood actress of all time

We always knew Scarlett Johansson was kick-ass, but she's just made history with her latest achievement.
The Avengers star has been named the highest grossing actress of all time in a new list published by Box Office Mojo. Over the years her work has brought in some serious box office revenue, totalling a whopping $3.3 billion dollars, and her highest grossing title, The Avengers, pulled in a cool sum of $623.4 million.
This achievement is even more inspiring considering that Scarlett is only 31, making her the youngest actor to make the prestigious list. But there's still clearly a long way to go in terms of resolving the Hollywood gender pay gap: The highest grossing male actor, Harrison Ford, weighs in at a whopping $4.87 billion dollars and put in perspective, Johansson was the only female to make it into the top 10.
As well as this, only nine women made the list at all, making it seriously male dominated. Cameron Diaz came in at number 19, Helena Bonham Carter at 26, followed by Cate Blanchett, Julia Roberts, Elizabeth Banks, Emma Watson, Sandra Bullock and Anne Hathaway, who come in at numbers 29, 39, 31, 32, 47 and 50 respectively.
While recognising that it was 'exciting' to be the only woman in the top 10, Scarlett said: 'it is kind of disappointing actually to be the only woman in this category, that was a little bit of a surprise to me' Extra TV reported.
Scarlett, star of 2016 films The Jungle Book and Captain America: Civil War, is one of many actresses who have addressed the gender pay gap in Hollywood.

Speaking to Cosmopolitan earlier this year, she said: 'I am very fortunate, I make a really good living, and I'm proud to be an actress who's making as many of my male peers at this stage...
'I think every woman has [been underpaid], but unless I'm addressing it as a larger problem, for me to talk about it feels a little obnoxious.
'It's part of a larger conversation about feminism in general' she said.
