Congratulations are definitely in order!
Princess Beatrice has just announced her engagement to partner Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, with her parents, the Duke and Duchess of York, breaking the news.
‘The Duke and Duchess of York are delighted to announce the engagement of Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice of York to Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi,’ Princess Beatrice’s parents announced in a statement. ‘Her Royal Highness and Mr. Mapelli Mozzi became engaged while away for the weekend in Italy earlier this month. The wedding will take place in 2020. Further details will be announced in due course.’
Prince Beatrice herself also shared the news, stating: ‘We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to actually be married. We share so many similar interests and values and we know that this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.’
But it wasn’t the Duke and Duchess of York’s reaction or Princess Beatrice’s announcement that got the world talking the most. Instead, it was the sweet reaction from her sister, Eugenie.
Taking to her Instagram, Eugenie shared a series of photographs of Beatrice and Edoardo, captioning them with a sweet congratulatory message.
‘Beabea - wow! I'm so happy for you my dearest big sissy and dear Edo,’ she posted. ‘It's been a long time coming and you two are meant to be’, going on to explain that she had actually taken the photograph herself.
This is lovely.
