Oscar Pistorius has admitted shooting dead girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, but claims he mistook for an intruder at his gated home in Pretoria.

In the latest from the Paraolympian's bail hearing in the South African capital, Pistorius' defence lawyer Barry Roux rejected claims the killing was a premeditated crime, telling the court he gave 'no concession that this is even murder'.
A statement read out in court said Pistorius and Steenkamp were 'deeply in love,' and claimed the athlete fired several shots through the bathroom door at what he thought was an intruder, before realising that Steenkamp was not in their bedroom.
In his statement, Pistorius continued: 'I trust the South African legal system and the facts will show that I did not murder Reeva," Pistorius's statement continued.
'I tried to save Reeva. But she died in my arms. I can't stand how much hurt I've caused.'
Yesterday, Gerrie Nel argued Pistorius intended to kill Reeva Steenkamp.
The prosecutor alleged the gold medal winner grabbed his gun and strapped on his prosthetic legs, before shooting her.
Oscar Pistorius was formally charged over the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, last week, after she was found dead at his gated Pretoria complex on Valentine's Day.
Oscar was arrested on Thursday morning after a body was discovered at his home in Silverwoods country estate in South Africa. He was taken into custody as police removed a 9mm pistol from the scene.
