The actress has bravely shared her story in support of the Centre for Reproductive Rights' campaign 'Draw the Line'
She is known for her straight-talking character Jessa Johansson in HBO smash Girls but we reckon actress Jemima Kirke is even braver in real life.
Why? The star has recently opened up about her difficult decision to have an abortion when she was at college, and she's speaking out in support of the Centre for Reproductive Rights' in the US.
Speaking candidly in a video for campaign 'Draw the Line'
'I just didn't have it. It's these obstacles and this stigma that makes these things not completely unavailable... We do have free choice and we are able to do what we want but there are these little hoops we have to jump through to get them.'
Referring to her two young daughters, in particular, she added: 'I would love if when they’re older, and they’re in their teens or their 20s, if the political issues surrounding their bodies were not there anymore.'
Jemima's honest words has already furthered the #ActForWomen dialogue surrounding the Women’s Health Protection Act in the US - a bill that, according to Draw The Line's website, would 'prohibit states from imposing unconstitutional restrictions on reproductive health care providers that apply to no similar medical care, interfere with women’s personal decision making, and block access to safe and legal abortion services.'
