Tilda Swinton has been chosen to be the face of Chanel's Métiers d'Art Paris-Edimbourg collection, which was presented on the catwalk in the Scottish capital in December.
The 52-year-old actress, who was picked by Chanel's creative director Karl Lagerfeld to be his latest 'heroine', will front the ads for the pre-autumn/winter 2013 line, which have also been shot by the multi-tasking designer.
The French fashion house has released a behind-the-scenes image of the shoot, which shows the Oscar-winning star perched on a wooden bench wearing a regal white gown from the collection as Lagerfeld snaps away on his camera.

Although born and raised in England, Swinton does have Scottish roots and hails from an ancient Anglo-Scots family that can trace its lineage back to the Middle Ages. Her paternal great-grandfather was Scottish politician George Swinton, and her maternal great-great-grandfather was Scottish botanist John Hutton Balfour. The star also now resides in Nairn in the Scottish Highlands.
Lagerfeld said: 'Tilda perfectly embodies the Paris-Edimbourg collection. She is of course Scottish, but more than that she is a modern woman, a timeless icon of elegance.'
