The British shoe designer has opened a boutique in Mayfair
Sophia Webster is throwing open the doors to her first ever store today – a super chic boutique in the middle of London’s Mayfair that the shoe designer has duly sprinkled with her signature butterfly and flamingo emblems.
‘It feels like such a milestone,’ Sophia tells us of the achievement. ‘It's been a really fun process designing it. It’s very me, there are even flamingos carved into the cornices.’
The space will showcase Sophia’s latest collections (including her new range of handbags) displayed in its entirety for the first time – something that the designer has been working on since she launched her eponymous brand in 2012.
‘It's been a really long process,’ she says. ‘My husband Bobby was an electrical engineer before he entered the world of ladies’ shoes [he is now the managing director of her company] so he’s pretty experienced with building sites and he knew all the lingo with the builders!’
Your ultimate guide to the new fashion season
From SS16’s mermaid-themed collection, to next season’s Beetlejuice inspired wares, the designer rarely puts a foot wrong with her playful, eclectic offerings and, now she’s got her own place, she plans to show us even more of her personality.
