There were always going to be comparisons between Meghan Markle and Princess Diana, and you certainly can't argue that the Duchess of Sussex dresses just as beautifully as her late mother-in-law - and whether on purpose or not, she seems to sometimes take sartorial inspiration from her.
For instance, last night, Meghan attended the Endeavour Awards with Prince Harry in London. She opted for a monochrome dress by her favourite designer brand, Givenchy.
It was so simple, but elegant, with a white shirt top and high waisted black satin maxi skirt.
The reason it reminded me of Princess Diana is that she also wore monochrome outfits on several occasions, whether black tie or not (see pictures below).
Of course, the style is slightly different, bearing in mind it was the 80s and it was all about those shoulder pads.
However both women understand the timeless elegance of black and white, it'll always be chic.
