The Jaeger-designed uniform to be worn by Kensington Palace's front of house team was unveiled today ahead of its re-opening at the end of this month.
Staff modelled the new uniforms today, showcasing a bold double-breasted red blazer with gold buttons and black lapels and co-ordinating neat black pencil skirts or wide legged trousers with a thick red stripe.
Established in 1884, Jaeger is one of Britain's most iconic fashion houses and, in keeping the Brit feel, they chose the London-based Jermyn Street Design to manufacture the uniforms.
The label's creative director, Stuart Stockdale, says he looked to the architectural and interior design details as well as royal ceremonial dress for inspiration.
Describing the new uniform, he said: 'It really tells a story and reflects Jaeger's reputation for timeless and iconic designs that transcend time.'
Natasha Woollard, visitor experience manager at Kensington Palace, explained: 'The new uniform with its modern tailoring, luxury fabrics and classic heritage reflects both the 21st century transformation of the palace and the important role the team play in bringing the palace to life. I can't wait to see the first visitors' reactions to the new uniform later this month!' We can't either!
