Here's why everyone wore white (or black) at the Critics' Choice Awards

ICYMI, a lot of stuff happened at the Critics' Choice Awards last night. Claire Foy's speech brought us to tears, and Lady Gaga and Glenn Close shared the best actress gong.
Then there was the red carpet, where pretty much everyone went for monochrome. Emily Blunt sparkled in white Prada, Jodie Comer wore cream Zuhair Murad, Chrissy Teigen wore a strapless Maison Yeya gown with jewel detail and even Lady Gaga toned it down in a light blush pink Calvin Klein by appointment number.
Meanwhile, Nicole Kidman wore a black and white Armani Privé number, Laura Dern was in head-to-toe dark sequins courtesy of Saint Laurent and Patricia Clarkson a black lace Georges Chakra Couture gown.
Although this might just be a coincidence, it certainly echoes the political messages pushed during awards season last year.
Actresses at the time chose to wear black in support of the victims of the #MeToo movement, whilst others wore white to signify hope and peace.
