She's long been a fan of Givenchy regularly hitting the red carpet and the stage wearing pieces by the label, so it seems only fitting that the French brand should create Rihanna's tour wardrobe.
Givenchy's Creative Director Riccardo Tisci has designed a series of bespoke Haute Couture stage outfits for the pop superstar for her Diamonds world tour, which kicked off this weekend in Buffalo, USA.
The costumes all feature in the first act of her live show and see the songstress make her concert entrance wearing a black floor-length silk crepe cape with a ruffled hem and an embroidered collar teamed with sexy leather thigh-high boots with lacing detailing.
Other items that made their stage debut at the gig include a monochrome leather bra with gold stars and buckles, silk satin shorts, oversized couture sunglasses, a gold metal shark tooth necklace reading 'RiRi' at the back and, taking cues from his autumn/winter 2013 menswear collection, Tisci also created a boyish black printed and embroidered parka.
Tisci said of the costumes: 'I enjoyed making these looks, Rihanna represents what young and amazing means today. She is punk and talented. She offers intelligence, energy and pure beauty. Rihanna has what every girl aspires to have. She is the face of her generation.'
