New London modelling agency bans size zeros
As the size zero debate continues to reign, a new London-based modelling agency has opened and announced that it will not take any girls they deem too slim, and will instead focus on ethical management.
Quintessentially Models has banned size zero girls from its books, and have taken comprehensive measures to ensure the health of its models. The agency also works closely with eating disorder charity B-eat to help raise awareness of the eating issues that face many girls in the industry.
To help maintain the health of their models, the agency enlists the help of nutritionists, personal trainers, dermatologists and councillors; the services of which are all offered free of charge to their clients.
With offices worldwide, the agency already has an impressive line-up of models, including girls who have worked on campaigns for Olay, Nivea and Lancôme.
Reflecting a wider shift in the industry, a move away from the trend for size zero models has been seen around the world since the controversial debate was first raised.
