Mark Zuckerberg announced that the Facebook changes are aimed at reducing clutter
Facebook is about to get a makeover. The social networking site's founder, Mark Zuckerberg, announced changes to the news feed at a press conference yesterday.
In an attempt to avoid clutter, Facebook's news feed has been redesigned to have multiple feeds. The 'All Friends' feed will display everything that your friends are sharing, but you can also narrow that down to just 'Close Friends'.
The other individual feeds will cover Photos, showing all images shared by your friends or the Pages you like; a Music feed displays posts about the music you are listening to, and a Following feed offers the latest news from the publications, brands, celebrities and groups you are following.

There will also be the option to create other news feeds that will notify you about things that interest you, for example fashion or sport.
Speaking about the changes, Zuckerberg said it would make Facebook like a 'personalised newspaper.'
Photos and videos will now appear bigger on the site, meaning that companies can publish larger adverts to encourage more clicks.
Facebook has begun rolling out the new format but it will be months before normal users like us will be affected.
