Calling the grilled bugs ‘delicious', Salma told how she developed her love of insects growing up in Mexico, where creepy-crawlies are often considered delicacies.
‘These little ants fried are amazing with a little guacamole,' she announced to an astonished audience as she appeared on America's David Letterman show.
‘And the worms, there are many different recipes for those. The little grasshoppers have a smoky flavour to them.
