The Queen just gave her staff an extremely sweet thank you present

The past 12 months have undoubtedly been busy for the royal family - and from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s nuptials to baby Archie’s arrival and Donald Trump’s state visit, they have needed all the help they could get. Especially given the growing rumours and speculation around the Mountbatten-Windsors, from the royal feud to the Prince Andrew-Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

It’s hardly surprising therefore that the Queen is giving her staff a sweet thank you present in the form of a pretty hefty pay rise.

Yes, as a thank you to her employees for their hard work this year, the Queen is giving all of her staff that earn under £56,375 a year, a four per cent pay rise.

So who will the benefit affect? Apparently around 400 staffers.

The news was reportedly broken to the staff via a memo that was sent around, with it reported that they are delighted.

‘The staff are cock-a-hoop,’ a Palace source reportedly told The Sun. ‘It’s the best rise we’ve had in year.’

The source continued: ’For too long the courtiers have relied on loyalty and the fact the staff love the Queen and have such respect for her. But they’ve lost a lot of the perks that used to compensate for such low pay and people have been struggling, so this will really help.’

The palace has since confirmed that while everyone will get a 1.5 per cent pay rise, the additional 2.5 per cent will be given based on performance.
