Prince Harry will be allowed to return to Afghanistan next year, to serve as an Apache attack helicopter pilot, Clarence House has confirmed.

Harry was hastily withdrawn from a 10-week tour of Helmand province in 2008, after his whereabouts in the dangerous country was leaked by foreign media.
But the young royal has often spoken about his desire to return and resume active service, explaining his 'heart was in the army.'
And now a spokesman has confirmed the Prince could be granted his wish, after he finishes his helicopter training next year.
‘Harry is an Army pilot and will deploy wherever the Army chooses to send him,’ the official confirmed in a statement.

‘His course finishes in 2012 and after that his deployment will be a matter for the Army chain of command.’
Yesterday, an MOD spokesman said they ‘cannot comment on the deployment of individual service personnel,’ but it’s thought defense chiefs and the Queen would have given the go-ahead for him to be redeployed.
