The model was reportedly heard gushing to a friend of her news in a restaurant, and even told a restaurant-goer who approached her: 'I'm having a baby! I just had my 12-week scan.'
Although it’s still not clear if the celebrity pair plan to stay together – their relationship was recently rocked by allegations the footballer had an affair with a prostitue during a weekend in Madrid - Peter has confirmed Abbey is definitely expecting.
But the footballing star is reportedly ‘upset’ over the way that the news came out.
‘Abbey told me on 25 July that she was pregnant but we agreed to keep it private until she was ready to make an announcement,’ he said.

Peter’s lawyer also released a statement condemning The Sun for revealing the pregnancy.
‘Peter Crouch today condemned intrusive Sun reporters who followed his girlfriend to a private clinic and eavesdropped and apparently recorded her private conversation in a restaurant,' a statemet read.
'The Sun published a story stating that Abbey is pregnant, depriving her of the opportunity to make this public in her own time and in her own way.’
But the Sun have defended their story, saying: ‘She spoke to a number of people in public about her 12-week scan.’
