Penélope Cruz is tipped to play the iconic Bond girl role in Sam Mendes' Skyfall follow-up, according to sources. At 40-years-old the Oscar winning actress is set to become the oldest Bond girl, taking the title from Brit Honor Blackman who was 39 when she starred as Pussy Galore in 1962’s Goldfinger.
Penélope, whose husband Javier Bardem played the villain in the 2012 blockbuster Skyfall, will reportedly film her scenes opposite Daniel Craig on the Sam Mendes directed flick, next summer.

A source told Yahoo: 'The producers have tried to get Penélope before, but she has never been available because of other commitments. The discussions have been going on for some time and they are working out the contract details now.'
Penélope and her husband Javier are currently expecting their second child. The private couple started dating in 2007 before tying the knot at an intimate ceremony in 2010. They welcomed their first child, son Leo Encinas Bardem, in 2011.
