Amy Winehouse's father Mitch forced himself listen to her posthumous new album despite finding it "difficult" to hear her voice.
The singer's father, Mitch Winehouse, wanted to listen to the collection before the family gave their permission for it to be released. But, Mitch has said, hearing his daughter's voice was more upsetting than even he imagined.

"The estate, which I'm a part of - my ex-wife and I - we could decide to put it out or not put it out, and when we went to listen to the album it was a very difficult time for us," Mitch told ITV's Daybreak.

"It was very emotional. But we had to sit through it and after the first couple of songs we sort of calmed down a little bit."

"Our son was there as well and we all had to be in agreement that the album was of the same quality or better, in fact, than Frank and Back To Black, and we were more than pleasantly surprised."
He told Daybreak that he and the family were "astonished" at the quality of the new album.
AMY WINEHOUSE: A RETROSPECTIVE
The new album, called Amy Winehouse Lioness: Hidden Treasures was put together by Amy's former collaborator Mark Ronson along with producer Salaam Remi. It contains original material as well as covers, and a donation will be made from sales of the album to the Amy Winehouse Foundation.
