Michael Jackson's doctor Conrad Murray has been accused of halting CPR on the singer to hide drugs
Michael Jackson's doctor Conrad Murray has been accused of halting efforts to save the dying singer, so that he could hide vials of drugs.
As the doctor awaits trial for involuntary manslaughter, the accusations have come through a witness statement from Jackson's bodyguard Alberto Alvarez, who claims Murray delayed attempts to revive the singer and calling emergency services, so as to hide the drugs.
Speaking to investigators, Alvarez told how he entered Jackson's bedroom to see the singer lying with an IV drip in his leg. Murray was performing CPR, but then stopped to hand Mr Alvarez drug vials, which he ordered to be put in a canvas bag, alongside the IV bag.
He added the Jackson's two eldest children, Prince and Paris, entered the room while Dr Murray preformed CPR, and were quickly ushered away by their nanny.
Investigators later found the bag containing anaesthetic propofol and two other sedatives in Jackson's wardrobe.
Murray was Jackson's personal physician, and denies charges that he accidentally killed the singer with an overdose of anaesthetic propofol. Suspicion fell on the doctor after it was revealed that he had stalled calling emergency services. His lawyers are already claiming that he did not attempt to hide drugs, and have questioned the validity of Mr Alvarez's account.
