Katy Perry & Russell Brand spend Christmas apart

The pop princess has been sunning herself in Hawaii, while her Brit comedian hubby celebrated in Cornwall

They’ve been brushing off 'ridiculous' rumours of a split for months, but Hollywood couple Katy Perry and Russell Brand set tongues wagging once again this week, by celebrating Christmas 7,000 miles apart.

Blaming crushing work schedules for dividing them across the ocean, the pair were spied celebrating Christmas with their own friends – but not each other.

Lucky Katy saw in the festive period in Hawaii, enjoying a well deserved break with pals on the beach.

The starlet was spotted showing off her fabulous figure in a teeny bikini as she took a dip in the surf, but seemed to be missing her wedding ring. 

‘She looked great and seemed like she didn't have a care in the world,’ one onlooker revealed.

Meanwhile, Russell Brand wrapped up warm for a breezy Christmas walk on Coverack beach in Cornwall, even stopping to pose for pictures with fans.

Despite talk of trouble in paradise, Russ blasted rumours of a split during an appearance on a US chat show earlier this month, telling host Ellen DeGeneres: ‘I am really happily married.’

He added: 'I don't know what is doing, but I'm married to Katy,' he continued. 'Perpetually, until death do us part was the pledge. I'm still alive.'

Well that's settled, then.
