Kate Moss has landed the role of... herself?
Kate Moss has got a new job. The 40 year-old supermodel has taken on a role in BBC1’s The Boy In The Dress – a TV adaptation of David Walliams’s best-selling children’s book.
Jennifer Saunders, Meera Syal and former Inbetweener James Buckley will also join the cast, with the lead character being played by new talent Billy Kennedy.
‘We have put together a dream cast for this, the first of my children’s books and for many still my best,’ David Walliams said. ‘It is a funny and poignant story about what it is to be different. I hope it will make everyone who sees it, young and old, stop and think.’
The lead character, cross-dressing 12-year-old Dennis Sims, is inspired to get all dressed up after getting lost in the fantastical pages of a fashion magazine.
Kate will play herself in a supermodel dream scene, which will air on BBC1 at Christmas. We wonder whether David’s wife, the equally gorgeous Lara Stone, had anything to do with casting her friend for the role?
And this isn’t the first time Kate’s took on the challenging task of acting like herself. In 2012 she filmed a cameo for Sport Relief’s Absolutely Fabulous special, and last week she made appeared on Channel 4’s Gogglebox with Noel Gallagher and Naomi Campbell.
