The star has revealed the ban noise during labour has left her children 'calm and peaceful'
Actor John Travolta’s wife Kelly Preston has spoken out on controversial religion Scientology’s practice of silent birth, revealing she was banned from speaking when she went into labour with baby son Benjamin.
But far from criticising Scientology’s strict birthing rules, the star – who already has a daughter, Ella, and sadly lost son Jett last year – has praised the practice, revealing it has left her children 'calm and peaceful'.
Telling how she was forbidden to talk during labour, Kelly revealed L. Ron Hubbard’s religion teaches that noise during birth can affect children during later life.
In an interview with America’s Today Show, she spoke out on the common Scientology practice, adding that she is certain that it worked for her children.
'It's just no words as much as possible. If you need to moan, if you cry out or all of that, of course, is normal,’ she said of the silent birth practice. ‘But just bringing them in as peaceful and gentle a way as possible.'

'L. Ron Hubbard found that the single source of aberration, of psychosomatic illnesses, stress, fears, worry, things like that, have to do with the reactive mind,' she added, 'and in that part of the mind is different words and commands that can come back to affect you later in your life,’ she added.
'I'm blessed with, my kids have always been amazing, very calm, very peaceful, happy, and I absolutely know that it's very much because of that.'
