Jamie Oliver to make bid of £20 million for Little Chef motorway chain
Not content with shaking up the school dinner system in Britain, Jamie Oliver now has his sights set on revamping the ailing Little Chef chain.
Oliver's TV production firm are considering a bid of around £20 million for the failing motorway food chain, famous for its plastic-style fry-ups.
The celebrity chef plans to film a reality TV show seeing him turn the greasy spoon menu into a healthy restaurant with fresh ingredients.
The chain almost went bankrupt at the beginning of this year but a private equity firm stepped in to save it. With Oliver's huge financial empire worth £60 million, it's a very tempting offer for the brand.
Sources said all the chain's eateries would be given a makeover, however the famous logo of a man in a chef's hat would stay.
