George Clooney soldiers on at the Michael Clayton premiere despite his motorbike collision
DESPITE COMING OFF his motorbike with girlfriend, Sarah Larson, in tow, George Clooney was determined to make it to the New York premiere of his latest movie Michael Clayton.
The couple were knocked off Clooney's bike on Friday in New Jersey. Sarah broke a toe in her foot and George suffered a fractured rib. But nothing could stop the pair hobbling down the red carpet – Sarah was on crutches with a bandaged left foot but still maintained red carpet etiquette with a black heel on her right. Her black eye was cleverly concealed by make-up.
Clooney admitted: 'I'm a little dinged-up. I'm definitely not jogging or doing jumping jacks,' adding that he and Sarah are 'just resting'.
The actor revealed he may be in trouble with the producers of the movie he is currently filming, Burn After Reading, who warned him not to use his motorbike until after filming.
'I'm not supposed to be on a motorcycle. I think I am in trouble now,' confessed Clooney.
Meanwhile Albert Sciancalepore, the other driver involved in the accident, claims he was 'shocked' and 'concerned' after the crash and still maintains Clooney's motorbike smashed into him.
Sciancalepore told Access Hollywood: 'My main concern was there are two people on the ground, they just hit me and, you know, I'm concerned for them.'
Police are still investigating the crash, and the 46-year-old actor could face dangerous driving charges if he was attempting to overtake the car on the right.
