After their success at Sunday’s glittering Golden Globe awards, Meryl Streep and George Clooney look set to continue their winning streak at the BAFTAs, after being nominated for prestigious best actress and actor prizes.
BAFTA NOMINATIONS: THE FULL LIST
Meryl Streep’s historical hit The Iron Lady was also named in three further categories, garnering nods for Best Supporting Actor, Original Screenplay and Hair & Make-up, while George Clooney was also featured in the Best Director category.
But this year’s golden pair face stiff competition.
Meryl will go up against Michelle Williams, Viola Davis, Tilda Swinton and Berenice Bejo in the race for Best Actress.
Meanwhile, George Clooney is once again head to head with best pal Brad Pitt, Shame star Michael Fassbender, Gary Oldman and Jean Dujardin.
