It’s thought the saucy snaps – which appear to have been taken by Scarlett herself – could have been stolen when her mobile phone was targeted by hackers in March.
Although the pictures have not yet been verified, reports suggest the star may have been targeted the same celebrity phone-hacking ring that stole snaps from the phones of High School musical actress Vanessa Hudgens and new mum Jessica Alba earlier this year.
And according to celebrity site TMZ Scarlett - who recently split from Milk actor Sean Penn - has called in America’s FBI to investigate the incident, and find out how the intimate pictures were stolen.
Reps for the star are yet to comment on the photos, but yesterday an FBI official told Foxnews.com that they would be looking in to the hacking claims.
