Rumour has it the Brit actor will play a vampire in new creepy thriller Stoker
After sweeping the Best Actor board at every awards event in 2011, you’d be forgiven for thinking Colin Firth has earned himself a well deserved rest. But instead the actor is keen to get straight back to work, and has landed his first post-Oscar role – in vampire movie Stoker.
COLIN FIRTH: CAREER IN PICTURES
According to reports, the celebrated star – who took home a coveted Academy Award for his role in The Kings Speech – has won a lead part in the new movie, billed as ‘dark, modern and creepy’.
It’s thought Colin will act alongside Nicole Kidman and Alice in Wonderland starlet Mia Wasikowska in the spooky film, inspired by Bram Stocker classic, Dracula.
'It's dark, modern and creepy. He's going out on a limb with this part,’ one insider told the News of the World of his role.
Rumour has it the thrilling new flick has been penned by Prison Break star Wentworth Miller, and could go into production next year.

Colin has already revealed plans to ‘change the pace’ of his career, and branch out into different roles following his much-deserved Oscar win.
‘I want to do something that amuses me now that changes the pace, changes the tone, continue my long tradition of making a fool of myself,’ he told the BBC after the Academy Awards ceremony.
