Cheryl Cole denies her song is Kelis rip-off
Critics say the two songs sound remarkably alike

Critics say the two songs sound remarkably alike
Cheryl Cole wowed the crowd last weekend when she debuted her new single, Fight For This Love, on X Factor. A staggering 14.8 million viewers tuned in to see her perform, exceeding viewing figures of even last year's final.
Wracked with nerves, Cheryl pulled out all the stops for the show, donning a dramatic outfit and being supported by a large team of dancers.
Her single's been flying off the shelves, and she seemed on her way to securing the top spot in the charts this weekend, which will knock off protégé Alexandra Burke.
But now music fans have raised doubts about the originality of the track.
It seems that some have found Fight For This Love - written by Andre Merritt who has previous worked with Rihanna - similar to a hit song by rapper Kelis.
Lil Star, released in 2007 reached number three in the charts.

However, Cheryl's camp has vigorously denied allegations. A spokesman for the star yesterday hit back at claims, saying, 'There are no similarities.'
