Charlize Theron just got very real about celebrity dating apps
'I'm so old school, it's problematic...'

'I'm so old school, it's problematic...'
Charlize Theron is one of the most sought after women in the world, and with her ex boyfriends ranging from Sean Penn and Ryan Reynolds to Keanu Reeves, you would assume that she would never have to even go near a dating app.
It seems, however, that no amount of beauty, intelligence and Oscar wins can exempt you from the perils of dating.
During an interview this week with Ellen DeGeneres, the South African and American actress opened up about her love life and why dating apps aren’t for her.
Admitting that she had tried out a celebrity dating app, Charlize explained how her good friend Chelsea Handler, US comedian, was the one who persuaded her to get into it.
‘I knew nothing about this world’, insisted Charlize, explaining how the discussion had come about at the Women’s March in Park City. ‘Anyway we were there and she was on her phone and she showed it to me, explaining it to me in that Chelsea Handler way which is like “Yeah, everyone’s doing this. What’s wrong with you? Where have you been? Under a rock?”’
Charlize continued: ‘So then I took real interest and was like “Ok, tell me how it works and so she’s swiping all these faces of guys and all these different sorts of – I’m going to sound like I’m eighty – but there are all sorts of different variations of no clothes - and they know if you’ve said you don’t like them.’

‘And then you have to text them and then the flirting starts and it’s kind of awkward because you don’t know the person and they’re trying to be cute and they say weird things like “what’s up sexy?’ and it’s just awkward.
‘This is why I’m still single’, she concluded. ‘I like a good old friend hooking you up or introducing you. I’m so old school. It’s problematic.’
We get you Charlize.
