Bradley Cooper says he was 'embarrassed' by Oscars snub
He felt he hadn't 'done his job'

He felt he hadn't 'done his job'
A Star Is Born has well and truly taken the world by storm, and everyone is waiting patiently to find out if it'll be equally as successful during award season. While Lady Gaga missed out on a Golden Globe, she won the Critics Choice Movie Award for Best Actress (alongside Glenn Close), and the film has received Oscar nominations for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Sound Mixing.
Seven nominations is huge news, especially for Bradley Cooper and his directorial debut, but there's one award that he isn't in the running for - Best Director. Despite the fact that the film could walk away with seven golden men, and that he could potentially get his hands on an Oscar for his own performance in the film, the snub left him feeling 'embarrassed'.
He appeared on Oprah's SuperSoul Conversations on Tuesday and opened up about how he felt when he realised he wasn't nominated for the Best Director award.
'I was embarrassed,' he said, as reported by People.
'I was at a coffee shop in New York City and looked down at my phone and Nicole [Caruso, his publicist] has told me congratulations and said what we had been nominated for. They didn’t even give me the bad news. I was embarrassed because I felt I hadn’t done my job.'
Lady Gaga has also spoken about the snub, telling the Los Angeles Times: 'Well, you know, you never know what's going to happen. But at the end of the day, he knows that he’s the best director in my eyes, and in all of our eyes as his cast. I know that he’s so happy that we’ve all been nominated and that the film was recognised and we all feel really, really beyond elated for the recognition.'
