Angelina Jolie admits to feeling 'broken' after her split from Brad Pitt
Angelina Jolie is one of the most talked-about women in the world, making viral news for everything from her new Marvel role to her separation from Brad Pitt, with the couple finally announced to be single this year (three years after filing for divorce), choosing to ‘bifurcate’ their marriage.
Angelina tends to keep her personal life out of the spotlight but this month the 44-year-old has done the opposite, using her red carpet appearances for her upcoming film, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, to open up and impart some important advice.
First, Ange admitted to ‘ugly crying’ as she dropped her 18-year-old son Maddox off at his university dormitory at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, where he is studying biochemistry. Then, taking her five other children – Pax, Zahara, Knox, Vivienne and Shiloh, along with her to several premieres of her new film, Angelina opened up about her own experiences of becoming a mother.
‘I questioned when I was a mother if I was good enough’, the actress recalled.
Today, the Angelina quotes that are going viral revolve around her divorce, with Angelina opening up in an interview with People that she felt ‘pretty broken’ from her divorce before going into filming.
‘It was a tough time,’ Angelina explained. ‘I’d been coming off a few years of difficulty, and I was not feeling very strong. In fact, I was feeling pretty broken. It took me a moment to feel the strength of [Maleficent] again.’
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil comes to UK cinemas on 18 October.
