Women dye hair blonde to beat recession
British women are dying their hair blonde in an effort to beat the doom and gloom of the recession.
According to celebrity hairdresser Andrew Barton, there has been a 67% surge in his blonde hair products compared to this time last year.
Apparently women are reaching for the bleach in an attempt to cheer themselves up amid all the financial turmoil – well, they do say a change is as good as a rest!
'I don't believe it is purely a coincidence that there's been a huge sales rise in blonde hair products during these tough financial times,' said Barton.
'Many of my female clients say they feel more confident, more youthful and more attractive when they go blonde and they get more attention.
'With only 10% of UK women having naturally blonde hair, choosing to be blonde must be more than about how you look.'

The news comes hot on the heels of a survey about people's perceptions of blondes.
The poll of 1,200 Asda customers found that blonde hair is associated with being extrovert and sexy and a staggering 90% of male respondents said they believe blondes have more fun.
