Two women charged in connection with Antigua honeymoon murders
Two women have been arrested in connection with the murders of a British couple killed on their honeymoon in Antigua.
Ben and Catherine Mullany were shot during a failed robbery in their holiday cottage at the Cocos hotel resort on the Caribbean island last month.
The two women have not been named but appeared in court charged with 'offences connected to the murders', Inspector Cornelius Charles said.
It is thought the women have been charged in connection with items stolen from the couple's room, rather than the murders themselves.
Over 30 people have been questioned in connection with the shootings but police in Antigua say there are no firm suspects.
The newlyweds were buried on Wednesday in a small funeral service at the church where they were married a month ago. The couple's families said in a joint statement that a memorial service for extended family, friends and colleagues would be held at a later date.
