With the help of The Prince's Trust, single mother Rebecca Taylor opened her own beauty salon, The Original Lash & Nail Bar
A homeless single mother at 23, Rebecca Taylor turned to The Prince's Trust to help open her own beauty salon. She now manages a thriving business, The Original Lash&Nail Bar, in Doncaster.
Having left school at 15 with no qualifications and falling pregnant at 23, Rebecca was living on her grandmother's sofa. After giving birth to her son, she approached The Prince's Trust.
Using their £3,000 loan and £1,500 grant, she went on to open The Original Lash & Nail Bar. Now employing eight girls and with an expected annual turnover of £200,000, Rebecca's story is an inspiration to us all.
"Juggling the business and bringing up my son on my own has been tough but it is nice to be constantly working. For once I feel I have a purpose in life and my parents are proud of me," says Rebecca.
As part of our Inspire and Mentor campaign, Rebecca will be sharing her story tomorrow evening alongside model turned TV chef Lorraine Pascale and Sarah Brown.
