HILARY SWANK HAS had her hair cut off for charity, live on the Oprah Winfrey show.
Winfrey herself took the shears to Swank's locks, and though the show will not air in the States until Friday, it has been reported that the presenter cut off nine inches, leaving Swank with a new short look.
Swank's hair will now be donated to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths charity campaign, which makes real-hair wigs for cancer victims. The Oscar-winning actress is a spokeswoman for the campaign, which she has revealed is close to her heart, 'I have lost multiple family members to cancer and witnessed their struggle firsthand. I've never heard of anything quite like Pantene Beautiful Lengths, and I'm proud to be asked to promote the goals of such a unique and heartfelt program.'
Speaking before the hair cut, Swank commented, I''ve been growing it for the last six months to donate my hair.' She added, 'I've been taking a lot of vitamins and taking really good care of it, knowing that it would go to a woman in need.'
