Brits are being wrongly educated to believe that popular ‘guilt-free’ foods such as hummus and low fat spreads, are low in calories.
The study by World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) reveals that although hummus contains 332 calories per 100g, it is still regarded by many of us as a healthy substitute to snacks such as crisps and chocolate.
‘It seems a lot of people are still confused about the calorie content of everyday foods,’ says a WCRF spokesman.
