Chicken soup lowers blood pressure
The most delicious way to tackle high blood pressure
The most delicious way to tackle high blood pressure
Plenty of us suffer from high blood pressure, but lowering it could be as easy as eating more chicken soup.
Already a favourite home remedy for the common cold, researchers say it could also be used to cure a whole host of other ills.
How? Well, a certain chemical found in chicken leg meat has been found to help reduce tension in muscles, which can in turn reduce the tension in our blood vessels and, therefore, our blood, too.
'Control of blood pressure by means of diet is considered to be very important, therefore the objective of this study was to contribute to the widening of the range of foods that are appropriate for hypertensive patients,' scientist Ai Saiga from Hiroshima University told the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry.
More tests will need to be done before anything conclusive can be found, however, in the meantime, a little homemade broth certainly won't hurt you.
