This micro trend is taking over the streets of New York
(and Meghan Markle has just backed it)

With New York Fashion Week in full swing, the Spring/Summer 2019 trends are starting to take shape, and I'm not talking about the catwalk.
Instead, I'm looking to the street, because the style set is just as influential in setting the sartorial scene as any designer.
This week, I've already noticed one big (micro) trend, which will transcend the seasons: tonal dressing.
Think either the exact same shade head-to-toe, or variations of it. I say trans-seasonal, because you can just switch up the shades depending on the time of year. For AW19, I'm loving rich chocolate browns mixed in with caramel hues, or dark greens. For SS19, try experimenting with pastel shades like Susie Lau in her bubblegum pink outfit below.
Even the Duchess of Sussex is getting in on the trend, wearing a lovely array of cream and taupe clothes below.

There is no right or wrong with this trend, however I encourage you to experiment with different textures and slight variations of one same hue to give depth to your look. Shop a few of my favourite picks for this season by clicking on any of the above images.
